'Acceptable' HA Builds.
After a fairly lengthy abscence from proper HA action, I decided to push on with the rank grind over the weekend. However, it appears that with the demise of IWAY, the malcontents seem unsure as to what builds they should flame on, and in anger have lashed out at every category of team possible.
Dual smite? 'Gay.' Vimway? 'Even Gayer.' NR Tranq and condition builds are 'lame,' Bloodspike is 'nub,' Choking Gas Rangers are for 'scrubs,' Dual Migrainers are worse, not even good 'ol balanced is safe, should it have the audacity to contain wards,or anything more than one knockdown or interrupt. Two of the balanced teams I ran with were labelled as a 'n00b balanceway' and 'completely retarded,' since they incorporated something that resembled a spike (Eviscerate must be a no-no now as well).
Is it forbidden to deal over fifty damage within a two second period now or something? Is the only build that is immune to flaming some kind of bizarre, quirky grouping of Mesmer/Rangers that rely on Unnatural Signet, Charm Animal and the power of love to win?

I don't know where you're hearing this from...vimway is the only nub thing in there >.>;; The stuff is good, the only reason stuff is being bashed on is either because (1) the team getting flamed are nubs and are trying to run a fotm and failing, (2) the team is running a fotm well and totally owning, or (3) the team is balanced and they're just really good and the team doing the bashing is running a fotm and not being successful.

Yes, it's generally when you win that you get the most flaming. I just don't understand how it can be so hard to type 'gg' when you're beaten fair and square.

If a build works then use it, screw what other people think, are you playing this game for them or for yourself?

You misunderstand, I'm by no means new to HA, and I couldn't give a damn if they like what builds I run or not - I just find the fact that every single functional build is labelled as a 'n00b' build pretty funny.

Don't play dual smite either, hell, don't play anything with a smiter because smiters are nub. MA + Apply is also nub, don't play that either. Oh, and vim...yea that's nub too. I guess the only thing left is hex overload...oh wait migraine is noob...damn.

No, all builds are fine. Except for spike, because spike is nub.

Read Squidget's post, it's the third one down. Squidget doesn't say spiking is nub, but I will. And my guild farmed champ points all last season with obs flame spike, so I speak with experience.

imo nub build are
i) those that u cant beat a decent team with it;
ii) limit ur tactics in altar map;
iii) have no counter for 30% of the builds (i.e. especially weak at hex or conditon removal, yet have nothing to interrupt the hex spammer or condition spammer);
iv) require little to none individual skill.
MA + apply is not the coolest build, but it's no nub either becoz rangers are very versatile.
dual smite is nub becoz it has not much interrupt, not much counter interrupt, which means they'll have a hard time in altar map, and i doubt they can beat any decent team within 2 min (say they failed to cap which is very likely) since they can kite, and well... i doubt they can beat any decent team in general.
Necro spike is nub becoz they only need a skilled caller and the rest are just leechers for fame.

ah jesus here we go again... plz dont talk about something u have absolutely no idea about. Btw if u r trying 2 b sarcastic u r horrible at it.
As for builds that are looked down upon on by most balanced players:
- Vimway, it just never wins, why do people keep running it?
- Bloodspike, it just doesnt work so noobs stop running it and get a decent build.
- Dual smite, not really diverse and easily counterable, yet most pug groupes are dual smite. People hate it cuz noobs run it. Plz not to be confused with balanced teams that run a smiter for some added pressure.
- Smite balls and balls in general, zomg give me a break.
- BAD condition builds. Many people are starting 2 get bored of playing against the exact same build, usually run by bad players. The better ones arent looked down upon as much as the horrible pugs.
